MR. CHURCHILL (By Private Notice) asked

the Prime Minr whether His Majesty's Govt are taking action to restore British administratn in Hong Kong

as soon as they receive the Japanese surrender in the

Colonies?

THE PRIME MINR: Yes Sir, as stated by

the Foreign Secty on Monday arrangements are being made for the Japanese surrender in Hong Kong to be accepted by the British Forces commander. Plans

for re-establishing British administratn in the

Colony are fully prepared.

gratification of the answer of the Prime inr, may I presume that my h F recalls that on numerous occasions, and particularly at the Cairo Conference in 1943,
